Cashflowpc and Search Engine Indexing

There is an issue getting Cashflowpc and VIP Travel Rewards basic affilite links accepted by the Search Engines. I addressed this with Peter Lim and asked if he could give us some suggestions. This is his reply 12-16-05:

Hi Cherie,
Let me share some insights with you on the problem you have raised. It has been an adopted practice for the search engines to refuse indexingof affiliate pages if they are a replicate of the PRINCIPAL site withjust a number to reference the affiliate site or the affiliate member's ID.

This were changes made about a year ago. This explains why the earlier sites are indexed, and when the search engines discover that there are a lot of other affiliate sites coming in with the same content and same server, they won't get listed, for the later ones.

Perhaps Cashflowpc and vip travels were not apprised of this by their techs. If the affiliate uses a name eg. cheriehalliday in her identity and this goes into the url, the chances of it being indexed is higher, but when an affiliate uses some sort of numbers ch1288 her chances of being indexed for these affiliate sites, especially the later ones is lower.

You are getting good listings in MSN search engine for your Cashflowpc sites because Cashflowpc likes a lot of postings to classifieds, ffas' etc and consider your site to be popular- they get links into the ffas' and classifieds, and that is why you are being indexed high in MSN. However this does not really work with other search engines like Yahoo and Google.

Yahoo likes onsite factors while Google depends on a lot of offsite optimisation. That is why each affiliate should not be issued sites bearing ID's and replicated from a principal site. The obvious solutions are:

1. create feeder sites to the affiliate sites - NOT doorway pages. For example I have http://www.cashflowpc.biz as a feeder site to the cashflowpc biz

2. Casflowpc or any online marketing entity to issue sites with member's name embedded as sub-domains ( not affiliate codes but members name ).

3. Use a masker or a link cloaker - change the affiliate url to adifferent link bearing member's name or some name, not affiliate codes.

Solution 3 may be the easiest way out..for example this facility is provided for under your XtreamNet submitter you are running and under the fastadsubmitter that Debra is running. There are also free softwares to do the affiliate cloaking. Affilaite cloaking is not illegal or a harmful practice. It is in fact an acceptable practice to prevent affiliate sales theft.

More later..

Peter Lim

As mentioned above, there are several ways around getting your sites into the Search Engines but it requires some creativity and work on your part. Also as Peter states, my sites are postitioned well for a number of reasons:

* I have created many linked sites which are accepted by the Search Engines and index well. These are a few examples:

http://myweb.ecomplanet.com/XTEA3488/
http://myweb.ecomplanet.com/XTRE4999/
http://myweb.ecomplanet.com/XTRE8843/
http://myweb.ecomplanet.com/XTRE1509/

* I am a Diamond member and have my unique (and therefor acceptable) website:
http://xtreamnet-cfpc.com/

* I have been posting to the Search Engines on a constant basis since 9-04

* I blast constantly to the ffa sites, add to traffic exchanges and etc since 9-04 (thus creating the popularity Peter mentions.)

* I link to ALL my own websites starting with http://www.xtreamsurf.com

* I have several blogs which I then ensure are kept current with articles pertaining to Cashflowpc and now VIP Travel Rewards

* I do consistant email marketing which helps with clicks to the links and then gives further boost to the Search Engine rankings.

I have not done a lot of short or tiny url work or tracking. I do recommend the short or tiny url suggestion. Ad tracking links - depending on where created sometimes can be too long. You can try both routes and see what works for you.
