Nature of Affiliate Links Affect Your Indexing at Search Engines

Part 2 of a series...
Are you a affiliate marketer? If you represent VIP Travel Rewards or Cashflowpc VOIP program then you are an affiliate marketer.

If you joined an online marketing company and earn commissions from selling that company products, than you are an affiliate for that company. But have you ever paused to consider the affiliate links given to you by your marketing company? Why should we even bother to look at the affiliate links? After all, we do not have any role in determining our links as they are all set by the company.

Now, if we have never stop to look at our affiliate links, then we should because the nature of the links do affect our indexing and marketing as an affiliate, especially if we use Google adwords. There are those of us who are using Google Adwords to advertise our Cashflowpc programs or even the VIPTravel rewards program.

Consider this: Here’s what you should also know that affects YOU, and which can work to YOUR advantage over every other affiliate out there: On January 6, 2005, Google dropped the bomb on everyone by announcing no more “url sharing.” This means that if you are involved in an affiliate program (such as any ClickBank selling any ebook program, or any other program where you have to use their web site addresses followed by either your account “nickname” or numeric ID), your ads at Google will mostly likely get permanently “disabled!”

The scariest part of all this is that MOST all other affiliate programs out there on the Internet are NOT prepared for Google’s new restrictive policy and continue to churn out these type of links that cannot be used for google adwords promotion. Also, in indexing of sites, most affiliate sites bearing the links in this manner fail to get indexed, and so do not enjoy search engine traffic.

While it is the responsibility of the marketing company to ensure alternatives to enable their affiliates to work around the problems, let me suggest some alternatives as solutions: First, you can build a Landing Page with YOUR own unique domain name and web site space online, and then from there you can have small ad blocks with your affiliate links directing people onward to your marketing company. This works very well.

Secondly, another alternative is for you to cloak your link or mask your link and perform some reformat on the links. There are links cloaking where you can change the link to other more friendly urls. Even online scripts that allow you to "shorthen" your url to a simple identifiable short url can be used. For example, in your Xtreamnet Safelists submitter or the Fastadsubmitter, there is available the Tracking facility where you can "mask" the link to a tangible identifiable url that is more friendly to the search engine for indexing.

Having said this, it is time for all marketing companies to address this issue rather than simply replicating websites with number ID's . With the developments in search engine listing, and online promotion methods, those marketing companies that are not responsive to new changes will suffer and affiliates will be sadly left behind.

So if you find difficulty in getting your sites indexed by the major search engines or if you find you cannot get your Google Adwords ads accepted, you can consider the above especially creating a landing page or a squeeze page to overcome the difficulties.
