The basic function of a submitter is pretty simple: it sends your ads out to the safelists automatically based on your membership level at the submitter. So, at a set time the submitter sends out your saved ad to all the lists in the database. The safelists receive your email and then make a decision:

1. Accept the email if it is time to do so and sends it on to the list membership. Each list has it's own schedule of when members can send email - all based on their membership criteria. For free members this can range from 1 day to 1 week.

2. Reject the email. It will check your membership level and then decide if:
a. it is time for you to send an email to the members

Sometimes it also means you do not have a membership with the lists. Running the Join function on a regular basis helps you keep up with that.

Managing your safelists through your submitter is easily accomplished and it is recommended you run vacation off and check on the state of your ads and lists every few days. Many people will use more than one submitter for their marketing using different user ids and email addresses.
